The memory palace is a place we take ourselves to remember moments, objects, places. It assigns organs and geographies to its contents. It gives them a room, a feeling, a visualization. By walking in the palace, we remember in real time. We step inside. We go back and forward and around. We go in line. We aspire to be unbound by notions of time. While we walk in the palace, the world turns around us. Time holds us while we remember. We remember the time we have spent in the palace; we experience the present and the past inside its walls.
